Are you interested in growing your social media, Facebook Page and Instagram page effectively? You did not need to invest a lot of your time to manage your post. Automation is the best solution to do it. We will get complex procedures if we automate Instagram posts (users can only upload via smart mobile). The simplest one to (semi) automate your Facebook Page and Instagram post is by scheduling it.

By scheduling your posts, you can increase your productivity. You save your time in managing posts. For example, in a day, you aim to create three posts for each Facebook and Instagram. To estimate, you will need at least three minutes (on average, outside building the content) to create a post. We assume a post on Facebook and Instagram has the same content. So, the total time you need is about 27 minutes in a day. By scheduling your posts, you will need about an hour to create posts for a one-week posting. To illustrate, I will create posts for one week, three posts each day, both for Facebook and Instagram account. I need to make 63 posts, and I can do it for less than an hour, with the same condition as the previous calculation (the Instagram post has the same content as Facebook). You can save about 2.5 hours in a week and can use it for other activities.

You can also get more audience because, in social media marketing, consistency is the key. You may be able to invest 27 minutes/day to create posts, but I am really sure you can not do it consistently, except you hire someone to do it. To be consistent in creating Facebook and Instagram accounts, it is not a big deal to schedule your post. For example, I set to post my content at 8 a.m., 1 p.m., and 8 p.m. every day.

Why Facebook Business Suite?

In the last quarter of 2020, Facebook launched a new interface to help users manage Facebook and Instagram simultaneously, such as managing postings, managing and receiving messages, and notifications in one place.

In this story, we will learn how to schedule Facebook and Instagram posts, but why should Facebook Business Suite? There are at least three reasons. First, you can use it without any bucks charged. If you find any tools to schedule Facebook and Instagram posts, you will get some tools that charge you at least $15 for a month. Second, you are not getting Facebook Business Suite in the trial version. It is free and no trial. Third, the features you can use are pretty similar to the paid ones. You can get insight into both of your Facebook and Instagram pages, as shown in Figure 1.

You will notice that the Instagram feed button is deactivated. Maybe you will get the same condition. It is because I have not connected my Facebook Page with my Instagram account. To connect it, you need to go back to your Page homepage. On the left panel, click Settings, as shown in Figure 5.

The next step is to write the text for your post, add media (Photo or Video), activate Call to Action, enter a location, and add feelings/activity. This tutorial will post a photo (Figure 9) and give it a simple caption.

Figure 9. An example photo for Facebook Page and Instagram post.

One thing you need to pay attention to is the Instagram post and Facebook is different. The optimal size for Facebook is 940 x 788 pixels and for the Instagram post is square, 1080 x 1080 pixels. I suggest you create photos or videos in a square one, follow the Instagram size. If you follow the Facebook size, you will get a bad post for your Instagram.

After writing the caption and uploading the photo, you can click a drop-down, besides the “Publish” button. Choose “Schedule Post” and set the time as you want. Here, I will set it to 27 January 2020, 7.30 p.m., as shown in Figure 10. The minimum time you can set is 20 minutes, and the maximum is 75 days from when you create it.

Then, click the “Schedule” button.
